Overview
When Horizon Behavioral Health wanted to increase community awareness of its substance use treatment services across Central Virginia, we stepped in to help build and execute a campaign that could truly meet people where they are. The effort was designed to reach adults 18 and older across a wide service area spanning Lynchburg, Appomattox, Altavista, Amherst County, Bedford County, and Campbell County.
A multi channel approach was the backbone of the strategy, bringing together social media advertising, geo targeted digital video ads, billboards, and direct mail to connect with audiences both online and in the real world. The messaging put a spotlight on Horizon's peer recovery services, family focused treatment options, and specialized programs like Project LINK, a program dedicated to supporting pregnant and postpartum women affected by substance use. Every channel worked together to make sure the people who needed these resources could actually find them.
Results
More than 489,000 social media impressions through digital advertising
Delivered 222,700 geo targeted impressions across the service area
Drove over 2.3 million impressions through billboard placements along high traffic routes
Produced overwhelmingly positive social media engagement throughout the campaign
Generated 32 direct phone calls from Project LINK ads alone
Increased visibility of Horizon Behavioral Health's full range of treatment programs
Strengthened community awareness and encouraged individuals and families to seek support for substance use recovery
