Overview
The Rappahannock Area Community Services Board (RACSB), in partnership with the Rappahannock Area Health District, saw what was happening in communities across the region: screen time was quietly replacing face to face connection, and something needed to be done about it. That insight became the foundation for Screens Down, Eyes Up, an initiative designed to encourage healthier digital habits and bring people back together in meaningful ways.
Supporting that mission called for a multifaceted approach that wove together research, copywriting, graphic design, and outreach across both digital and physical spaces. The result was a rich collection of materials that met people wherever they were, from social media content and geofenced ads to posters, yard signs, chalk stencils, and a community Bingo game. Conversation starter cards, screen free family meal prompts, and journaling activities added a personal touch, while a centralized webpage tied it all together with local and national mental health resources.
