Overview
Lock and Talk Virginia launched the Tell Me initiative with a clear and powerful purpose: to raise awareness about youth mental health and chip away at the stigma that too often keeps young people from speaking up. Built around the message "I'm Seen, I'm Heard, I'm Accepted," the campaign was designed to reach both youth navigating mental health challenges and the adults in their lives who play a critical role in supporting them.
The initiative encouraged open conversations, empathy, and early recognition of the signs of distress. To spread that message far and wide, outreach materials included social media graphics, video content, and a digital toolkit that made it easy for community partners to share campaign content across platforms. Messaging pointed audiences toward key resources, including the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, while inspiring youth to speak up and motivating adults to show up for the young people around them.
